Mainly because they want to rule it or in Marik's case plunge it into darkness and make everyone suffer.

Takes away from the fun of looking at it. Plus I'm a fan of Sephiroth/Kadaj, and that falls into the same category. God, speaking of, I've got a wonderful picture I'd like to put up on the Final Fantasy page, but Photobucket would delete it...-_-
